Week 13

This week, we returned to one of our previous experiments. We conducted an experiment using M&Ms and water. We wanted to determine was causes the color of an M&M to dissolve faster. We tried it in hot, cold, and sugared water. At first, our group had the idea to measure how different "waters"  affect how fast the color of the m&m came off but we did not acquire our data properly so we had to think of a different idea. It makes sense for different factors of waters to change the speed and process by which the m&m is affected. I knew that with warmer water the color would fade out quicker since the particles are moving faster.

This is an experiment I would use with my students in the future. I can make this into a whole group lesson. Students can gather around and I can ask them how they think the m&m would react with hot vs cold water. We could observe and record our observations as a class. This allows students to visually see what is happening rather than just telling them.
