Blog 1 Science methods 2

In our first lab on Monday, we introduced ourselves to the class and learned about the class syllabus. Then we watched a video on a super fast runner named The Freeze. The runners who went up against him all got a head start but it was up to us to determine why and how they got this head start. We worked in groups and did our own race and competed with another group. Thursday during lecture, we worked on how to find the speed in a problem. At first, I was very confused but then after discussing and working through them with classmates and then as a whole class, I have a better understanding of it. Although I definitely would not mind the extra practice on it! The key takeaways from this weeks reading were that describing motion allows us to predict where things will be in the future and understanding why things move the way that they do. I need more information/practice on being able to work through finding speed and measuring motion problems like we practiced in lab and during lecture.
