This week, we started chemistry. We did a few different experiments. There was cold soda, plunger push, coke float, melting ice, baking soda and vinegar, and M&M's in water. We were told to work through these stations and make predictions and write our observations.
One experiment I was surprised with was the melting ice. One would think the ice would melt faster on a block of wood than a stainless steel pot since it could be "warmer". But the ice melted in the pot a lot quicker than on the block of wood.
These would be fun experiments to use in a future classroom with younger children to make predictions. Young students would find these stations super engaging and I would love to hear what they would say about their observations and predicaments.
